Karunya Bhavan offers round-the-clock residential care with spacious dormitories, clean facilities, and recreational amenities. Nutritious meals combining South and North Indian cuisine are provided, along with access to a library and movie screenings. The institution offers training opportunities for volunteers and Social Work students and organizes picnics and outings. Additionally, a 24-hour van service is available for emergency medical transportation.
24 hours residential care is provided for both short and long term care treatment. Two dormitories each in first floor and ground floor are provided which are spacious, well ventilated and bright. Toilet and bathroom facilities with 24 hour water supply are provided. Recreational facilities like newspapers, magazines and televisions are supplied.
The clean and well equipped kitchen and beautifully arranged dining hall have been set up to provide the residents timely food and refreshment.
A combination of South and North cuisine is available daily, with a standardized specific meal plan with required nutrition per day.
There is a collection of reading materials set up for the residents including novels, stories and journals.
New Hindi and Malayalam movies are enjoyed on the big screen.
24 hour van service is helpful in dealing with any kind of medical emergency where the residents require specialized emergency medical care in outside hospitals
Picnics to nearby tourist spots are arranged for the inmates
Christmas, Onam etc. provides a family atmosphere. Birthdays of each resident is celebrated with cake cutting, an exchange of greetings and wishes etc.
We provide training for volunteers and Social Work students to work with the mentally ill. Various University Departments have been sending their students to concurrent and block field work placements. Students can send their requests for undergoing training/field work through respective departments to Karunya Bhavan.
